Meet Wade Lnenicka
Thank you Smyrna! I look forward to serving as your mayor and serving your interests.
This is the first challenge for the mayoral office by an elected member of the city’s government since the incumbent mayor took office in 1985. I believe it is time for a new leader and a new vision.
As a seven-term City Councilman in the City of Smyrna, I believe there is a need for positive, collaborative action in the areas of public education, city management, public safety, veterans and senior citizens concerns. Additionally, more opportunities for youth engagement and involvement are needed. I also see a critical need to restore a spirit of civility and cooperation within the City Council.
I have long been a champion for fiscal responsibility within Smyrna’s government. I am lobbying for establishment of a veteran’s clinic within the city on the site of a recently closed hospital. I also led the Council’s passage of a recent policy which guarantees benefits for legally married gay spouses of city employees.
I have more than 30 years of business experience working for companies including Printpack and CPG-Pepsi Bottlers, and I hold the professional designation of Certified Purchasing Manager. Currently, I am the co-owner of BuyWell, which provides consulting services.
I served three years on active duty in the U.S. Army and qualified as an army ranger, and I served 19 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. Married for 30 years, I hold a B.S. Management Degree from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
I am fully committed to championing integrity, professionalism, ethics and civility in our local city government, and I will work hard to listen carefully and courteously to the citizens of Smyrna.
As I prepare for the upcoming election, I look forward to hearing the opinions, concerns and issues that will guide and inform my campaign. Until then, I respectfully ask for your vote on November 3, 2015.
